Karen Dumery holds a degree in Business Administration from Boston University. Karen started her professional career at EY in Brussels as an external auditor. After several years, she joined American Standard as an internal auditor to conduct financial and operational audits of industrial sites in the EMEA region. Thereafter, Karen held finance and managing director roles with increasing responsibility at American Standard, Watson Wyatt and Sara Lee, among others. She concluded this period as CFO EMEA-India at Victaulic.

Over the years, Karen has worked with business leaders in a wide range of areas, developing enterprise-level solutions, improving business processes, and achieving strategic goals while increasing profitability and shareholder value. Through enthusing teams and creating positive energy, Karen has contributed to achieving business goals whilst demonstrating innovative leadership.

In 2022, Karen founded the company GoAct, which advises on sustainability matters and guides companies in the startup phase, transformations and transitions. Karen is chair of the audit committee and board member of Compagnie du Bois Sauvage, a Belgian holding company and board member of Wervel, a non-profit organisation in the field of short supply chains. Karen also leads the Guberna Sounding Board Committee for Sustainability, which is composed of Guberna alumni and organises meetings and events with a view to exchanging best practices and insights on sustainability governance for the Guberna alumni community.
