He started his professional career at Bekaert, and almost immediately he was sent to Inchalam in Chile. After more than 7 years in Chile, he became Plant Manager for High Carbon Wires at Bekaert's site in Hemiksem. Afterwards, Luc continued his career at Umicore's copper division with offices in Belgium, Bulgaria, Italy and Switzerland. Eventually, he became responsible for the division’s spin-off and became CEO of the 100% publicly traded Cumerio.

Following the successful sale to Norddeutsche Affinerie (now Aurubis), Luc joined Agfa-Gevaert as a member of the Executive Committee and was responsible for the Agfa Materials and Digital Print & Chemistry divisions. In parallel, he served as CPO, CHRO, and President of the Radiology Solutions division for a long time. Since 2020, he also led the Offset Solutions division, spinning it off as Agfa Offset BV until its sale to a German PE. During his Agfa period, Luc was chairman of essenscia Vlaanderen for 9 years.

Through all his responsibilities, Luc has gained extensive experience, both operationally and in support services. Over a long period of time, he led Agfa's R&D in chemistry, but also did not shy away from difficult restructurings at home and abroad, in full respect for all involved and building on strong teams.
